This week’s weather: Snow and freezing lows of -8 C coming up in Ontario

It’s turning out to be a mostly cloudy and snowy week with freezing temperatures as flurries and sub-zero lows are expected to sweep across southern Ontario.
As of today (Dec. 1), residents will wake up to overcast conditions with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Bitter wind chills make the morning feel much colder, dropping temperatures to -13 C in some parts of the area. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 50 km/h, adding to the frosty atmosphere.
Daytime highs will hover around 1 C, with snow anticipated late in the afternoon, continuing into the evening and bringing an accumulation of about 2 cm.
By evening, partly cloudy skies will return as temperatures dip to -6 C. However, the wind chill will make it feel as low as -14 C in some areas.
Monday kicks off the week with a mix of sun and cloud and a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Winds will be light at 15 km/h, with daytime highs reaching 3 C, though morning wind chills will make it feel like -9 C. By the evening, skies will turn cloudy as temperatures drop to -6 C, with wind chills feeling closer to -11 C.
Tuesday continues with cloudy conditions and a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Temperatures will climb to a high of 3 C during the day, while overnight brings a 40 per cent chance of flurries and lows of -4 C.
Wednesday brings periods of snow throughout the day, with a high of 1 C. Snow is expected to continue into the evening, with temperatures dropping to -2 C.
Thursday follows with cloudy skies and a 40 per cent chance of flurries. Winds will pick up, making the high of -1 C feel much colder. By night, temperatures will dip to -6 C with a continued chance of flurries.
Friday offers a brief break with a mix of sun and cloud and a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Highs will reach -2 C, while the evening turns cloudy again with a continued chance of flurries and lows of -8 C.
Saturday closes out the week with cloudy skies and a 40 per cent chance of flurries throughout the day. The high will hover around -2 C with evening lows around -4 C.
