This weekend’s weather will bring something not seen for a while in Ontario

Sunny weather is in the forecast for an entire weekend for the first time in weeks, maybe months, in southern Ontario.
The weather has been unseasonably dreary for January with barely any sunny days. December wasn’t much better with days of thick fog blanketing the province.
Fog has even grounded flights at Pearson Airport in Mississauga recently.
Ground Hog Day arrives on Friday but with only partly sunny skies expected, it may be difficult for the rodent to see its shadow. If he does, winter will go on for six more weeks.
However, with recent temperatures, it seems like winter hasn’t even arrived yet. And the lack of sun be getting some people down.
There have been a few days of sun and partly sunny conditions but this weekend will be the first in a while with full sun in the forecast.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting two solid days of full sunshine across southern Ontario including Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Halton and Hamilton.
There are no clouds expected.
The sunshine also comes with continued unseasonably mild temperatures.
The high will reach 3 C on Saturday (Feb. 3) and 2 C on Sunday in Mississauga, Brampton and Halton. It will be slightly cooler in Hamilton with highs of 2 C.
The lows will drop down to about -4 C to -6 C.
The average high for this time of year is around -2 C and the low should be about -10 C, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
But while the sunny skies are expected to continue, the weather does appear to be getting cooler next week. A high of 0 C is expected on Monday and Tuesday — still above the norms for this time of year.
