One Mississauga neighbourhood is in the province’s top 50 for high COVID-19 positivity rates this week.

Toronto-based research group ICES listed the top 50 postal codes in Ontario with high COVID-19 positivity for the week of Jan. 23 to 29.

One is in Mississauga: Postal code L4X, which is reporting 22.60% positivity.

L4X is the postal code with the 48th highest COVID-19 positivity in Ontario.

ICES also says case counts reported since December 31, 2021 represent an underestimate of the true number of individuals with COVID-19, due to changes in eligibility for SARS-CoV-2 PCR testing.

Highlights

For the week of Jan. 23 to 29, Peel Region (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon) had the 11th highest COVID-19 positivity out of Ontario’s 34 public health units (PHUs), reporting 16.81% positivity.

The province overall is listed 19th at 14.64% positivity.
