Mississauga has a full lineup of events this weekend including concerts, festivals, bike rides and community tree planting. Though the evenings might get chilly with a chance of rain, a cozy sweater and umbrella should do the trick. Here’s what’s happening from Sept. 27 to Sept. 29:


September 27

Tribute to the Eagles

Hotel California, a tribute band dedicated to recreating the legendary sound of the Eagles, has been thrilling audiences worldwide for over thirty years. Known for their striking vocal resemblance, precise instrumental work, and soaring harmonies, the band has performed at large outdoor venues and shared stages with rock legends. Tickets are priced at $64.50 per person.

September 28

Tastes of South East Asia – Love Festival

This two-day event at Celebration Square offers a unique cultural experience for visitors. Admission is free and there will be a range of activities for the entire family including food, live music, kids’ entertainment and a multi-cultural parade. The festival will also have a fashion show, decoration competitions, an art exhibition and giveaways for lucky attendees.

All-Nations Powwow 2024

This free event at the University of Toronto Mississauga is an All-Nations Powwow, an Indigenous social celebration featuring traditional singing and dancing. Community members, including non-Indigenous attendees, are welcome and encouraged to participate.

The Powwow highlights the importance of relationship-building and offers an opportunity to learn more about Indigenous culture.

Music Day In Canada

Experience Music Day in Canada at the Rec Room in Square One. The event will feature live performances from emerging Canadian artists and special guests. There will also be contests and giveaways. In addition, a portion of each ticket sold supports youth mental health programs in the local community through United Way.

Azormyth Music Festival

The Portuguese Cultural Centre will host the Azormyth Music Festival, featuring live performances from a variety of artists and genres. General admission starts at $86.53. Grab your friends, bring your dancing shoes and experience a day of unforgettable melodies.

A Night of Hindustani Rhythm and Melody

The Maja Prentice Theatre will host an evening of Hindustani Classical Music, featuring a tabla solo by Kiran Morarji and a vocal solo by Ramneek Singh. Hardeep Chana on harmonium and Jasmeet Chana on tabla will provide accompaniment. General admission is $40.

Salmon Run Community Ride

Erindale Park will host a bike ride along the Credit River, offering participants a chance to observe the annual salmon run. Each fall, 20+ pound salmon travel from Lake Ontario up the Credit River to spawn, providing a unique natural spectacle.

Riders can choose between an 8 km or 16 km route, with specific details posted one week before the event. For those unable to join the in-person ride, the routes will be available throughout the year for self-guided exploration.

Port Credit Farmers’ Market

Discover artisanal fare and unique gifts as you stroll along the scenic lakeshore. Make a day of it by exploring nearby parks and visiting the iconic Port Credit Lighthouse.

One Million Trees Planting Event

Celebrate National Forest Week at City View Park by helping the City of Mississauga work toward its goal of planting one million trees.

Participants must pre-register online and should dress for the weather, wearing closed-toed shoes and long pants. Equipment, including shovels, will be provided— though you are welcome to bring your own. Staff will be available on-site to sign off on volunteer hours for youth under 18.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Bradley Museum (Sept. 28 to Sept. 30)

Tours of the historic house and museum grounds will provide insight into the history of Indigenous peoples on the treaty lands now known as Mississauga, as well as the City’s efforts toward reconciliation and the 94 Calls to Action.

Tours run every half-hour (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.) on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended.

Families can also participate in hands-on activities to honour children lost to the residential school system and reflect on personal reconciliation journeys. Attendees must note that the program includes sensitive subject matter that may not be suitable for all ages.

Isn’t She Lovely 2024

The Living Arts Centre will feature an evening of women in song with Patti Jannetta, Heather Christine, Elena Kapeleris and Carla Gonzalez-Casanova. Pianist and producer Bill King will serve as musical director, paying tribute to Oscar Peterson, who is backed by jazz musicians Mark Kelso and Pat Collins.

Patti Jannetta, a Mississauga music icon, was inducted into the Mississauga Legends Row in 2023.

An Evening With The Fab Four

The Living Arts Centre will host The Fab Four, widely regarded as the ultimate Beatles tribute. Known for their note-for-note live renditions of The Beatles’ classics, The Fab Four brings the iconic sounds of John, Paul, George, and Ringo to life. Tickets start at $40, plus applicable fees.

September 29

Lakeview Farmers Market

Held at the picturesque Small Arms Inspection Building, this community event showcases local talent through food, art, and craftsmanship. Visitors can explore displays featuring unique trinkets and beautiful creations from local artisans.

Out of the Vault – (Sept. 26 to Dec. 15)

The Bradley Museum will host an exhibition marking the City of Mississauga’s 50th anniversary. In celebration of this milestone, the Museums of Mississauga have hidden 50 artifact markers from their historic collection throughout the city as part of the History Hunt. Starting September 26, these artifacts will be taken “out of the vault” and displayed at the museum.

Visitors are invited to explore the unique stories behind each artifact, offering a glimpse into Mississauga’s rich heritage over the past five decades.

Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert

The Living Arts Centre brings “Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: In Concert,” featuring a live band performing in sync with David Bowie’s original vocals. Experience the full movie with live renditions of songs and the score composed by Bowie and Trevor Jones, bringing the cult classic to life in a unique fusion of film and live music. Tickets start at $69 plus applicable fees.
