It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Mississauga is bursting with festive charm, offering everything from local traditions like Santa parades and holiday markets to vibrant concerts and unique events. Here’s a snapshot of what’s happening across the city from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1:


November 29

MELA

Celebrate cultural diversity at MELA, an evening of music, dance, food and art.

Something Rotten!

Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are overshadowed by Renaissance rock star “The Bard.” When a soothsayer predicts the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting simultaneously, they set out to create the world’s first musical. Their journey to success reveals the importance of staying true to themselves.

Out of the Vault – (Sept. 26 to Dec. 15)

The Bradley Museum will host an exhibition marking the City of Mississauga’s 50th anniversary. In celebration of this milestone, the Museums of Mississauga have hidden 50 artifact markers from their historic collection throughout the city as part of the History Hunt. These artifacts will be taken “out of the vault” and displayed at the museum.

Visitors are invited to explore the unique stories behind each artifact, offering a glimpse into Mississauga’s rich heritage over the past five decades.

Generation X Marks the Spot: Black History in Mississauga

Curated by Dayo Kefentse, this exhibition at the Bradley Museum explores the history of young Caribbean Canadians in Mississauga during the 1980s. Through an audio documentary and a new interview with former Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Ingrid Pellew-Berkeley, the project examines the impact of the Black Action Defense Committee and the story of Michael Wade Lawson. It is funded by the BIPOC Community Curator Program.

Opening Event for Fire Station 125

NovaCosmo Worldwide Pageants – International

Witness the crowning of the first NovaCosmo Worldwide Queens in a groundbreaking event featuring contestants from 25 countries. Paris-based celebrity designer Manish Vaid will debut a fashion show in Canada during this glamorous evening of red-carpet moments, networking and media interactions.

Explore the rich aviation history of Malton, a key contributor to Mississauga’s growth over the past 50 years. This exhibition features rarely-seen photographs from the Museums of Mississauga’s historical collection, showcasing the people, places and planes that built Malton’s aviation legacy.

December 1

Santa Claus Parade Mississauga

Join the 8th annual Mississauga Santa Claus Parade and experience over 75 concept floats, marching groups, musical bands, and live entertainment. Supporting local charities like Mississauga Food Banks, United Way of Peel Region and Habitat for Humanity, this parade promises to be the largest and most elaborate in the city. The 1.2 km route begins at the intersection of Dunwin Dr. and Glen Erin Dr., proceeds south on Glen Erin, turns west on Motorway Blvd., and finishes northbound on Woodchester Dr.

Time: The parade route opens at 11 a.m.; the event runs from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Art Shelter Jam Session
