As temperatures drop and the first snowfall may soon blanket Mississauga, the holiday season is beginning to feel even more magical! From festive markets and art installations to interactive dinner theatre and dazzling light shows, the city is offering a ton of exciting family-friendly events. Here’s what’s on from Nov. 22 to Nov. 24:


November 22

Christmas in The Village

Visit the charming town of Streetsville and experience the magic of Christmas in The Village. Shop unique gifts for teachers and loved ones at the artisan market, with over 30 vendors offering something for everyone on your list. Enjoy live musical performances by River North, Kendra Gabrielle, Kalia, Mo Guzman and the children’s choir of St. Rose of Lima. There will also be a tree-lighting ceremony, horse-drawn carriage rides, photos with Santa, hot chocolate and more.

Mississauga’s 50th Anniversary Projection Exhibition (Nov. 22 to Nov. 24)

Celebrate Mississauga’s 50th Anniversary with a dazzling art exhibition featuring projection mapping at Celebration Square. Witness the library’s façade come alive with mesmerizing animations that display the themes of reflect, aspire, and celebrate.

illumi – The World’s Biggest Light & Sound Show (Nov. 15 to Jan 5)

There’s nothing more festive than an evening at the world’s largest light and sound show. illumi brings holiday magic to life, offering an enchanting experience with giant snowflakes, candy canes, reindeer, and the world’s tallest Tree of Lights.

Visiones Latinas en Mississauga – Trazos Latinos (Nov. 22 to Nov. 24)

In celebration of Mississauga’s 50th anniversary, this upcoming exhibition presents a variety of pieces that honour the city. The event will also unveil a collective piece, which will be presented as a gift to Heritage Mississauga.

Out of the Vault – (Sept. 26 to Dec. 15)

The Bradley Museum will host an exhibition marking the City of Mississauga’s 50th anniversary. In celebration of this milestone, the Museums of Mississauga have hidden 50 artifact markers from their historic collection throughout the city as part of the History Hunt. These artifacts will be taken “out of the vault” and displayed at the museum.

Visitors are invited to explore the unique stories behind each artifact, offering a glimpse into Mississauga’s rich heritage over the past five decades.

Makerspace at the Museum (Oct. 24 to Dec. 14)

Join staff from Mississauga Library at Bradley Museum to explore the creativity of the Makerspace program. They will demonstrate projects and crafts inspired by the ongoing Out of the Vault exhibition, offering a hands-on experience for visitors.

Raptors 905 – 2024/2025 Season (Nov. 22 to Mar. 26, 2025) 

Catch the future stars of the NBA with Raptors 905, the NBA Gatorade League team. Watch exciting home games at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre and be part of the action as they showcase rising talent.

Escapades

Light Up the Square 2024

Celebrate the start of the winter season with Light Up the Square, presented by TD Bank Group. The event also features dazzling art installations, including Moongarden and a special 50th-anniversary projection mapping installation.

The Dinner Detective – “Dirty Money” Murder Mystery Dinner Show

Generation X Marks the Spot: Black History in Mississauga

Curated by Dayo Kefentse, this exhibition at the Bradley Museum explores the history of young Caribbean Canadians in Mississauga during the 1980s. Through an audio documentary and a new interview with former Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Ingrid Pellew-Berkeley, the project examines the impact of the Black Action Defense Committee and the story of Michael Wade Lawson. It is funded by the BIPOC Community Curator Program.

Malton’s Aviation History (Nov. 9 2024  to Jan. 31, 2025) 

Explore the rich aviation history of Malton, a key contributor to Mississauga’s growth over the past 50 years. This exhibition features rarely-seen photographs from the Museums of Mississauga’s historical collection, showcasing the people, places and planes that built Malton’s aviation legacy.

Masterworks: A Czech Celebration

Mississauga Collectors Con 2024

This year’s Mississauga Collectors Con brings an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of vintage and modern collectibles. Featuring an impressive selection of toys from the 80s and 90s, the event will showcase everything from Transformers (vintage and Japanese imports) to Star Wars, GI Joe, Masters of the Universe, Marvel Legends, DC Universe, Wrestling, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and much more.
