November 1

School Of Rock Musical – (Nov. 1 to Nov. 10, 2024)

Get ready to rock with Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star who finds himself posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. When Dewey discovers his students’ hidden musical talents, he transforms the straight-A students into a full-blown rock band, all while trying to avoid detection by the school’s headmistress and the student’s parents. Will they make it to the Battle of the Bands?

Photography and Photo-based Art Exhibition (Oct. 23 to Nov.1) 

CreativeHub 1352 presents Mississauga Now and Then, a photography and photo-based art exhibition. The artworks explore placemaking in Mississauga and how it continues to grow and transform, shaped by the locals.

Autumn Breeze Concert

St. Sebastian’s College-OBA— presents Autumn Breeze, the first Canadian event featuring two live bands, at Renaissance by the Creek.

Augmented Reality Scavenger Hunt at Bradley Museum

Dive into an interactive, self-led augmented reality (AR) scavenger hunt at Bradley Museum. Families and participants of all ages can explore the museum’s beautiful grounds while discovering fall foods, celebrations and stories from around the world.

How to Participate:

  • Scan QR codes at six stations to unlock AR content that reveals traditions worldwide.
  • Grab or download a scavenger hunt game card to answer questions at each station.
  • Submit your completed form at Bradley Museum during opening hours for a prize (while supplies last).

Mississauga’s 50th Anniversary Celebration 

Celebrate Mississauga’s 50th anniversary with CreativeHub 1352 at the Small Arms Inspection Building. The evening will feature live jazz by Jazz Plazma, a dance performance by Blueheel Dance Studio, storytelling by Brandon Lista and Laura Therrien, the premiere of a short film and a reception for the “Mississauga Now and Then” exhibition. Digital photography works by Cawthra Park SS Grade 12 Visual Arts RAP class will also be showcased through Instagram stories.

Out of the Vault – (Sept. 26 to Dec. 15)

The Bradley Museum will host an exhibition marking the City of Mississauga’s 50th anniversary. In celebration of this milestone, the Museums of Mississauga have hidden 50 artifact markers from their historic collection throughout the city as part of the History Hunt. Starting September 26, these artifacts will be taken “out of the vault” and displayed at the museum.

Visitors are invited to explore the unique stories behind each artifact, offering a glimpse into Mississauga’s rich heritage over the past five decades.

November 2

Life Time Fitness Mississauga —Fall Classic Pickleball 

The event is open to Lifetime Members and Non-Members, with medals for 1st and 2nd place. In addition, all participants will receive a Lifetime Pickleball Ice Shaker. Attendees are advised to register according to their skill level, as the tournament director may re-classify entrants or combine divisions as needed.

Scavenger Hunt Mississauga 

CyberActivities Inc. presents a family-friendly scavenger hunt experience with a modern twist. This event is designed for people of all ages. Participants will receive clues and instructions on their mobile devices from an in-game host, guiding them to find and collect items in a busy, public setting like a shopping mall. Enjoy this flexible activity that can be started at any time and has a 90-minute duration.

Community Invasive Species Control: Groundcovers 

Join Mississauga’s Forestry team at Osprey Woods for a hands-on event focused on removing non-native invasive groundcover plants. The activity will begin with a brief history and ecological overview of the area, followed by guidance on identifying and managing invasive species as part of Mississauga’s Invasive Species Management Plan. This is a unique opportunity to support local ecology while learning valuable conservation skills.

Guidelines for Participants:

  • Supplies provided by the City of Mississauga
  • Suitable for ages ten and up, with a 20-minute walking requirement

  • Volunteer hours can be signed off for youth under 18

November 3

The Sunday Antique Market – (Jan. 7 to Dec. 1, 2024)

The beloved Toronto antique market has found a new home at Mississauga’s historic Small Arms Inspection Building. This iconic market offers unique, one-of-a-kind treasures spanning from the Victorian era to mid-century modern styles. With over 80 vendors from Ontario and Quebec, it’s the perfect place to shop for gifts or to discover your next antique find.

Baila West Latin Dance Social 

Canada SBK presents a vibrant Latin dance social happening. Every Sunday, rain or shine, enjoy spacious wooden dance floors and tunes of Salsa, Bachata, ChaCha, and Kizomba. With DJs Flojo, Geronimo, and Sweet Like, this event features two rooms: Room 1 for Salsa and Bachata and Room 2 for Kizomba. Participants are advised to bring their own beverages and snacks.

Art Shelter Jam Session

Join an open improvisational jam session at The Art Shelter, facilitated by Bri Clarke of the Artversations Podcast. Donations are “Pay What You Can” with a suggested amount of $8, or you can bring a snack to share with the group.
