September 6

The World of Jazz Festival, hosted by B-Jazzed, takes over Downtown Brampton for two days, featuring over 100 musicians. The event highlights the evolution of jazz, showcasing diverse global influences through performances by local students, hobbyists, and professionals. Past festivals have included renowned artists like Michael Kaeshammer and the Count Basie Orchestra.

September 7

Parkinson SuperWalk Brampton

A 2 km family-friendly walk will take place at Susan Fennell Sportsplex to support Parkinson’s Canada. Funds raised will go toward research, advocacy, and services for those living with Parkinson’s Disease.

Brampton Farmers’ Market

This market offers plenty of options for those looking to buy fresh produce from local farmers.

Where: Main Street South and in Ken Whillans Square.

Ishani Dave – Indian Garba Festival 

The Indian Garba Festival, part of the Brampton Navratri Festival 2024, will take place at the CAA Sports Centre. Ishani Dave, a renowned musician, will perform live garba, energizing the dance floor.

Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional attire and bring their dancing shoes.

Chris Strei with the Dirt Road Travelers

Chris Strei is a country singer/songwriter whose style blends influences from blues, bluegrass, hard rock, and metal. His music draws from personal experiences, offering relatable storytelling. Since 2017, he has opened for The Trews, toured across Canada, and performed with Dayna Manning.

In 2019, Strei released his album The Moonshine, featuring ten tracks that explore various themes, including the fan-favorite “Prison Bound Man” and the bittersweet “Timbercreek.” The album was launched at a sold-out show in Woodstock, Ontario.

September 8

Don Doan Dash

A 5 km and 10 km race in support of ALS Canada will be held at Professor’s Lake Recreation Centre. Participants can run or walk the event. The first 250 will receive a shirt, and all will earn a medal. The course map is available on the website and two water stations will be set up along the route.

Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.


15th Cruisin’ for a Cure Canada

A one-day car, truck, and motorcycle show to raise awareness about prostate cancer will feature vehicle displays, raffles, giveaways and people’s choice awards. There will also be food, entertainment and vendors offering automotive products, crafts as well as health information. Parking is $20 per vehicle.

Sparkling Victorian Style Potluck Tea Party

A Victorian-style tea party will bring friends together for an afternoon of tradition and creativity at Chinguacousy Park. Guests are invited to wear western outfits with flared skirts, long gloves, and hats decorated with feathers and flowers.

The event will also include an open mic segment, where attendees can share poems, short stories, or songs in a relaxed and social setting.
