With just a few weeks left of summer, Brampton is buzzing with a variety of events to make the most of the season. From art competitions and street parties to live music and cultural celebrations, here’s a roundup of what’s happening in Brampton this weekend.


August 16

Party in the Lanes

This family-friendly event returns with its massive street party. Organized by the Downtown Brampton BIA, this year’s party claims to be bigger than ever, highlighting the vibrant downtown scene and its unique businesses.

Where: Vivian Lane and 22 George St. N.
Time: 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

  • Vivian Lane – 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Bring the kids to Vivian Lane for the Kids Zone, where they can meet their favourite furry friends, play with giant LEGO, enjoy crafts, face painting, temporary tattoos, balloons, and much more. Meet and greet characters between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • George Street Parking Lot – Salsa Party – 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
    Head to the George Street Parking Lot for a salsa party hosted by The Salsa Club. Latin music, dance lessons, live performances, and more will serenade visitors.

Stomp N’ Stampede

This annual event returns to Garden Square, celebrating all things country! Guests can enjoy live music from host DJ Johnny Rivex, songs by headliner Kalsey Kulyk and a special performance by Aaron Allen. The Double Trouble dancers will also provide line-dancing lessons.

Movies Under the Stars

Catch the magic of movies under the stars with free, family-friendly outdoor screenings at Chinguacousy Park.

Live Art Competition

The Live Art Competition, organized by long-time resident and artist John Cutruzzola, returns for its 8th year. Artists will compete for first, second, and third-place cash awards in their chosen medium—oil, acrylic, or watercolor. The event is open to participants aged 13 and older.

The Many Faces of Canada

This two-day celebration will take place at the Bob Callahan Flower City Seniors Centre. There will be lots of different cultural foods, performances and lively music.
