Four dogs in the Mississauga shelter have been waiting for over a year for their forever homes.

On National Dog Day this week, the City of Mississauga posted about dogs currently in the shelter’s care for about a year.

“These dogs have become like family to our team at Animal Services, and while we provide them with the best care possible, we know they deserve to be in loving homes,” a city spokesperson told INsauga.com.

“Each of these dogs has a unique personality and would make a wonderful companion for the right person or family.”

The dog with the longest stay currently is T.T., a four-year-old boxer and rottweiler mix. T.T. is very affectionate, loves playing with toys and has OK leash skills. She can be dog-reactive and has a high prey drive. She needs an experienced dog owner.

T.T. has been in the shelter’s care for 463 days.
