Rainy and cool weather is in store for the Thanksgiving weekend in southern Ontario.

After forecast highs of 22 C and sunny skies on Friday, the weekend is looking cooler.

For those looking to enjoy outdoor activities, Saturday might be the best day with sunny skies forecast for much of southern Ontario, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The temperature will reach highs of around 16 C but drop down to as low as 3 C in the evening on Saturday in Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, Niagara and Durham regions.

People may want to pack their umbrellas for the rest of the weekend.

There is a 30 to 40 per cent chance of rain with a lower high of 14 C on Thanksgiving Sunday. Lows could drop down to 4 C in the evening with more rain.

On the holiday Monday, there is a 30 per cent chance of showers with lows dropping down to 4 C in the evening.

Those heading to the Muskoka area this weekend for fall colour viewing will find sunnier weather.

Environment Canada forecasts mainly sunny skies with highs around 13 C on Saturday, partly cloudy on Sunday with highs dropping to 12 C and a chance of a shower on Monday in the Huntsville area.
