Whether you’re a crossfit connoisseur or just looking to shed some pandemic pounds, the Brampton Tough Run is sure to have you working up a sweat.

The Brampton Tough Run is an outdoor challenge race that combines a five-kilometre run with ten obstacle challenges. And after two years on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic, the run is making a comeback next month on Oct. 1.

The city has yet to reveal what physical challenges it has in store, but previous year’s obstacles include a ski hill climb and descent, tire flips, track and field activities, and a weighted drag.

Challengers are welcome to bypass an obstacle if it proves too difficult, as the purpose of the Brampton Tough Run is to get people of all ages and fitness levels active and  outdoors to have fun.

Registration is open now and can be completed online or in person at any Brampton Recreation Centre. The deadline to sign up and secure a starting time for the race is Sept. 29.

Participants must be 14 years of age or older to sign up for the challenge, and the first 200 people to sign up will all receive a 10-day trial fitness membership at City of Brampton Recreation Centres.

The first heat on the day of the race will start at 10 a.m., with another heat beginning every ten minutes. There are 30 spots available for each heat, with the final round starting at 12:30 p.m.

The registration fee for teens is $18.75, and $25.00 for adults.

Anyone registering who is between 14 and 17 years old must have a waiver completed by someone over the age of 18.

The Brampton Tough Run takes place on Saturday, Oct. 1st, at Chinguacousy Park. For more information visit www.Brampton.ca.
