Teen dead, two others injured in triple shooting in Hamilton

Police are investigating a recent shooting and homicide in the Stoney Creek area of Hamilton.
The shooting occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 6 in the rear parking lot behind the plaza at 288 Mud Street West.
“Two suspects approached three individuals who were standing in the parking lot and fired several shots at them,” said police.
A 17 year old male was critically injured and pronounced dead at the hospital.
A 35 year old male sustained life-altering injuries, while a 25 year old male was treated for injuries and has since been released.
Police will not release the victim’s name at this time as they work to notify next-of-kin.
There is currently no description for either of the two suspects.
“Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting,” said police. “There will be a large police presence in the area of Mud Street West and Paramount Drive over the weekend.”
