‘Suspicious’ male approaches young child in Oakville, identity sought

The public’s assistance is required in helping to identify a “suspicious” male who approached a young girl in Oakville earlier this month.
The 11-year-old female was walking her dog around 9:35 a.m. on July 11, 2024, at the intersection of Burloak Drive and Stedford Road when she was approached by a male exiting the pathway adjoining Burloak Drive and Euston Road.
“The male initiated a brief conversation with the female regarding her dog before returning to the pathway where he was first observed,” said Halton Regional Police.
Police are investigating the incident and say although no criminal offence occurred, they are seeing the identification of the male.
The male is described as being Black, in his late 30’s to early 40’s and he is approximately six-foot-tall with a slim build and is clean shaven.
He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up, dark blue jeans and black shoes.
