Suspect accused of crashing stolen car into police cruiser in Oakville, Ontario still at large

Police say a suspect who allegedly stole a vehicle and crashed it into a police cruiser is still at large.

Halton police say that around 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 1, officers were called to a commercial business on North Service Road in Oakville due to a “suspicious vehicle” parked in a lot with a male inside.

Police allege that when officers arrived on scene, the individual attempted to flee and immediately put the vehicle in motion, striking a police vehicle in the process.

Police say the man abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Police allege that further investigation found the vehicle was reported stolen from the York region. During a search of the car, police allegedly located break-and-enter tools and electronic devices used in the commission of vehicle thefts.

Police describe the suspect as a 5’6″ Black male with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, grey pants and white shoes.
