A lakeside concert series returns this month in Mississauga.

Sunsets & Sounds at Lakeview Village, a concert series by the lake, is back for its fourth year.

The event, featuring local musicians, food and drink, starts tonight (Sept. 13) and continues over two more Wednesdays this month.

“We started Sunsets and Sounds at the height of the pandemic to bring the community together in a celebration of local music,” says Brian Sutherland from Lakeview Village. “Today it is all that and more, showcasing a stunning waterfront property that is — and will continue to be — a great destination for all of Mississauga to embrace.”

Lakeview Village will be a large condo and housing development, now under construction, east of Cawthra Road.

Tonight, the Sunsets & Sounds concert series will kick off with Bywater Call and Dan Bodanis Band, a southern soul, roots and rock group.

On Sept. 20, Forever Seger and Marshall Dave, a Bob Seger tribute band, performs.

And on Sept. 27, Paul Langlois Band and Boston Levi perform. Langlois was a member of the Tragically Hip before the band’s lead singer, Gord Downie, died in 2017.

Food trucks from Street Eats Market — an incubator and launch pad for emerging and scaling independent street food businesses — will be at the concerts along with local craft beer from Stonehooker Brewing Company and wine and cocktails from the Wine Wagon Mobile Bar.

Each performance runs from 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $10 with all proceeds donated to Feed Mississauga, a local not-for-profit organization that strives to ensure that no one in the City of Mississauga goes hungry.

Donations from Sunsets & Sounds will support its next meal project for people in need — “Open Table” — as well as sleeping bags for the homeless.

The concert series is at the Lakeview Village Recreation Field south of the Discovery Centre, 985 Hydro Rd. This is near the large, sunflower garden,

Tickets must be purchased in advance through Eventbrite. All ages are welcome. Children under age 12 are free.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

Parking is limited.
