Sudden death on the QEW investigated in Oakville

Police are investigating the death of a woman on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Oakville.
A 37-year-old woman from Toronto died Sunday following reports of a collision on the Fort Erie-bound lanes at Royal Windsor Drive in Oakville, OPP said.
Emergency crews were called to the highway around 11:30 a.m. after numerous calls about the collision between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle, police said.
Officers provided life-saving measures on the woman but she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police described the incident as a sudden death.
All Fort Erie-bound lanes were closed to facilitate the investigation and clean-up effort. The highway reopened around 7 p.m. on Sunday, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials are asking for witnesses who may have dashcam footage to call the OPP Burlington Detachment at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident number E241678648.
