Stolen vehicle located on fire following Mississauga shooting

The stolen vehicle that suspects fled in following a shooting at a Mississauga plaza last night which sent four people to the hospital, was found on fire approximately half an hour from the crime scene.

On Saturday, July 1, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a shooting at a commercial plaza located at 1195 Queensway East.

A Peel Regional Police officer has confirmed with insauga.com that the shooting took place outside in the parking lot of the plaza which houses multiple businesses including Qube Studios —whose front entrance was shattered to pieces due to gunfire.

According to police, as a result of the incident, four victims appeared to be injured and were sent to the hospital for treatment.

Officers have verified that three of the victims were transported to a trauma hospital while the fourth made their own way to a local hospital.

As of today (July. 2) three of the victims are in stable condition while the fourth remains under critical care.

Investigators have not mentioned if it was a targeted incident, and if there is any risk to public safety.

Police released an image of a White Ram 1500 pickup truck with an Ontario license plate BD85909 which the suspects fled the scene in.

An officer has told insauga.com that the pickup truck was found on fire in the Town of Caledon on Boston Mills Rd.

Police have not clarified if the vehicle caught on fire or if it was done deliberately.

Investigators have also determined that the vehicle was stolen property.

The suspects are currently at large and no descriptions or images are available at this time.
