Stolen vehicle, carjacking behind major tie-up at busy Burlington intersection

The collision that closed a busy Burlington intersection this morning involved a stolen vehicle and a carjacking.
Unfolding just after 7 a.m. this morning, Halton police say that a stolen pickup truck and another car believed to be involved with the crime collided with other vehicles at the intersection of Guelph Line and Upper Middle Road.
Following the collision, police say two suspects then used a knife and punched a motorist to steal his vehicle and make a getaway. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police who arrived at the scene were able to arrest three people and took them into custody. One of the culprits involved in the carjacking remains at large.
Officers are continuing their investigation as they hunt for the remaining suspect.
The intersection remains closed as the investigation is ongoing.
