An SUV stolen in a Toronto carjacking has been found in Brampton, but a dog inadvertently taken in the theft is still missing.
A white Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from the Bloor Street West and The East Mall area on Wednesday at approximately 8:50 a.m., Toronto Police said.
The Jeep was recovered in Brampton, a police spokesperson told INsauga.com, but the dog has not been located. The vehicle was reportedly found near Hurontario Street and Mayfield Road.
Reports indicate the victim is a father who was dropping off his child at school when his SUV was taken. A man approached him and threatened to hurt kids if he didn’t give him the vehicle.
Police said that when the victim got out of the SUV, the man got into the vehicle and drove off with the victim’s dog in the back.
The dog is described as a four-year-old chocolate Labrador named Roxy.
The culprit has not yet been located, police said.
