A stolen car, two snowmobiles and a man in hiding were all found by police during an investigation in a small eastern Ontario town on Tuesday.
Street crime officers with Ontario Provincial Police made the property seizures — and an arrest — at a home near Flinton, about 125 kilometres northwest of Kingston.
Lennox and Addington OPP officers began the investigation into stolen vehicles and quickly called in members of the street crime unit when they identified a property to be searched, police said in a news release on Wednesday.
Police recovered a stolen 2009 Volkswagen Golf and two stolen snowmobiles during their search. In addition, they found a man hiding inside the home as well.
A second person was escorted off the property and warned that returning would be considered trespassing, police added.
A 33-year-old Addington Highlands man is charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and single counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and fail to comply with a probation order.
The accused was held in custody pending a court appearance in Napanee on Wednesday.
Police said the owner of the home had no connection to the stolen vehicles.
