Star Wars concert, holiday concerts and more from the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra

For those who love the live music and bombastic performances of the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra (MSO), the wait for more is finally over.
The MSO recently began its first full in-person season since the pandemic, and there’s a lot to look forward to – such as classical music performances inspired by legendary composers, multiple holiday shows, and even a Star Wars concert! They also celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2022.
Tickets are on sale now for these performances, happening at The Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.
Here’s what’s happening for their 2022/2023 season:
The Barber of Seville

A talented cast of singers will join the MSO to perform Rossini’s The Barber of Seville. Having premiered in 1816, this beloved comedic opera is still entertaining audiences more than 200 years later!
The Music of Easter

Celebrate Easter with an exciting selection of music by Bach, Haydn, Stravinsky and more. The show includes the world premiere of The Cross of Christ by world-class tenor Romulo Delgado.
The Music of Star Wars

May the force be with you! Guests are invited to dress up as their favourite Star Wars character and enjoy a concert featuring all the best music from the legendary space opera, which has become one of the biggest media franchises of all time.
The Planets

The MSO’s 2022/2023 season is ending with a bang! Travel through the solar system with The Planets, a seven-movement orchestral suite composed by Gustav Holst, and enjoy a show that’s “out of this world” in every way possible.
The Music of Italy and Argentina

Join the Mississauga Symphony on November 19th when they’ll celebrate 10 exciting years under the baton of Maestro Denis Mastromonaco! This specially curated concert celebrates the Maestro’s Argentine and Italian heritage, combining the best music from both cultures.
Patrons can also take part in an online silent auction featuring a variety of items up for grabs: Toronto Maple Leafs tickets provided by Commerx, Toronto Raptors tickets provided by Sam McDadi, and a fantastic package from Opticians on Wheels featuring designer frames, an eye exam, and lenses! A Merry Little Christmas

There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit with the MSO’s popular Christmas concert, offering holiday fun for the whole family. The show is available in two different formats: A shorter one-hour concert for young kids, and a full all-ages concert later that evening.

This is the MSO’s first full in-person season since the pandemic, during which they did a number of digital shows and performances until the theatre was able to fully reopen to guests.
The MSO continues to be one of Mississauga’s finest arts and culture institutions for over 50 years. Since being established in 1972, the orchestra has performed a wide range of different concerts and community events at The Living Arts Centre and other venues across the city.
