Environment Canada issued the special weather statement shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday saying to expect strong northwest winds gusting up to 80 km/h as a cold front blasts through the region.

The wind be most felt most near the shorelines of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay and includes parts of Northern Huron County, Southern Bruce County, and Tobermory among others, the agency said.

“Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, break branches off trees, and cause local power outages,” Environment Canada said in the alert.

Here are all the Ontario cities and towns under a special wind weather statement on Monday:

  • Barrie
  • Collingwood
  • Bruce Peninsula
  • Sauble Beach
  • Tobermory
  • Goderich
  • Bluewater
  • Southern Huron County
  • Hanover
  • Dundalk

  • Orr Lake
  • Owen Sound
  • Blue Mountains
  • Northern Grey County
  • Saugeen Shores
  • Kincardine

The blast of cold air comes one week after a warm front from the U.S. led to a record-breaking temperature of 22.5 C at Pearson International Airport in Mississauga on Tuesday, cruising past the previous high for Nov. 5 of 20 C set back in 1959.
