Much of southern Ontario is in for more wet weather with a special weather statement warning of heavy rainfall expected on Thursday.
Between 25 to 50 mm of rain is expected to fall across Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Durham, Toronto and many other cities and towns near Lake Ontario, Environment and Climate Change Canada said on Thursday.
The rainfall is expected to last into Friday as a low-pressure system rolls in bringing heavy rainfall across the Golden Horseshoe are.
The agency says the heavy downpour could can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, as well as localized flooding in low-lying areas.
The alert is not a full-blown warning, however, Ottawa and the surrounding area is under a rainfall warning with between 50 to 100 mm of rain expected.
Torrential rain hit southern Ontario last month leading to flooding and closed roads in Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington and many parts of the GTA.
