A rare orchid show is getting inspiration from the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse in Niagara Falls.

A total solar eclipse will happen in Niagara Falls and other areas in southern Ontario on Monday, April 8.

Hotels and Airbnbs are booked as Niagara Region is expecting thousands of people for the rare event.

The next total solar eclipse in eastern Canada will be in 2079. The next time a total solar eclipse is happening directly over Toronto is 2144.

If you are one of the people braving the crowds, you may want to catch the first-ever in-person Orchid Show inside the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse, 7145 Niagara River Pkwy., Niagara Falls.

The show draws inspiration from the solar eclipse showcasing a mesmerizing palette of celestial hues ranging from striking purples to cheerful yellows, pinks and whites, according to a press release from Niagara Parks.

“Meanwhile, the formations of yellow, white and purple orchids symbolize galaxies across the universe. As guests enter the North House, prepare to be amazed by floral creations that pull the viewer to the show-stopping white moon-inspired orchid orb.”
