Snow weather advisory in effect in southern Ontario cities and towns

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for several areas across southern Ontario.

The advisory is in effect for Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, York Region, Halton, Hamilton, Durham Region and Niagara Region, according Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Snowfall and hazardous driving conditions are expected on Wednesday.

What to expect east of Oshawa in Port Hope:

  • Heavy Snowfall: Local accumulations near 20 centimetres.
  • Peak Snowfall Rates: Between two to five centimetres per hour.
  • Visibility: Extremely poor at times in heavy snow.

The advisory is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening as a low-pressure system moves through the region. Snow is expected to taper off by the evening.
