Some parts of southern Ontario could get their first snowfall on Thursday.

After a cold front moved in Wednesday night, some areas around the GTA got heavy rain and hail in the evening.

It is a chilly start on Thursday with temperatures around 2 C in the morning.

The Weather Channel is predicting a mix of rain and snow Thursday morning for the GTA including Mississauga, Milton and Brampton.

However, Environment Canada and The Weather Network are forecasting rain only in the GTA on Thursday.

There may even be some sun in the morning and highs of around 6 C are expected in much of the GTA including Oshawa, Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, and Oakville, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. There is a 30 per chance of rain throughout the day.

Hamilton will be slightly colder with highs of 4 C.

Snow could come to cities and towns to the north and west of the GTA.

The Niagara Falls and St. Catharines area has a chance of showers and flurries beginning early this morning and ending near noon.

With a high of 3 C, Kitchener, Guelph, and Orangeville have a 30 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries in the morning or early afternoon.
