Southern Ontario is expected to experience another cloudy week, with frigid temperatures and a mix of rain and snow each day.

Later in the week, brief moments of sunshine are anticipated to break through the gloomy weather.


As of today (Dec. 8) residents will wake up to 2 cm of overnight snow, with cloudy skies lingering through the morning. A mix of rain and snow will make for a gloomy start to the day.

Winds are expected to reach up to 20 km/h in the morning, easing by late afternoon as daytime highs climb to 5 C. Cloudy skies will persist into the evening, with temperatures dipping to 0 C.

Monday starts off cloudy with periods of rain in the morning and gusty winds reaching up to 40 km/h. Fog patches will clear by midday, with temperatures climbing to a mild 5 C. By evening, there is a 40 per cent chance of drizzle, while fog patches return as temperatures dip to 2 C.

Tuesday stays cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers throughout the day. Temperatures will hover around 5 C during the day and drop to 1 C overnight.

A colder pattern takes hold by Wednesday, with a mix of rain showers and flurries possible during the day and a high of 4 C. As night falls, temperatures will plummet to -7 C with a 40 per cent chance of flurries under cloudy skies.

Thursday brings a mix of sun and clouds with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and gusty winds. If you catch it at the right moment, you might spot some scattered sunshine breaking through. The high will remain at a frosty -7 C, with temperatures plunging to -10 C overnight.

Friday brings a similar mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries and a daytime high of -5 C, offering another opportunity to catch some sunshine. Nighttime temperatures will also hover around -5 C under partly cloudy skies.

Saturday turns cloudy once again, with a 40 per cent chance of snow and a high of 0 C, which is expected to hold steady through the evening.
