A blast of snow could delay flights at Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga.
Many people in southern Ontario are waking up to a fresh blanket of snow on Friday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory as the snow could impact the morning commute. A low pressure system is expected to bring between five to 10 centimetres of snow to southern Ontario.
The snowfall is expected to taper off in the afternoon.
In the meantime, heading into a busy Christmas travel weekend, the snow could delay some flights.
Pearson Airport officials said crews were out Friday morning.
“Our surface maintenance specialists are out in the plows clearing runways this morning as we expect over 5 cm of snow throughout the day,” the airport said in a post on X. “With snow, operations can slow down. If you are one of the 138,000 people travelling through Pearson today, be sure to check your flight time, arrive early and enjoy the holiday vibe in the terminals.”
