SIU called in after man plunges to his death from hospital parking garage roof in Oshawa

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the death of an Oshawa man after he plunged to the ground from the roof of Oshawa Hospital’s parking garage early Tuesday morning.
Durham Police were dispatched to Lakeridge Health Oshawa at 3:30 a.m. after a women reported that her 26-year-old son was “in distress.”
Upon arriving, officers located the man on the roof of the parking garage and attempts were made to communicate with him. Shortly after, the SIU reported, the man fell from the roof to the ground below.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
