Single-vehicle crash leads to drug charges for a novice driver in Caledon

A single-vehicle crash in Caledon led to drug charges for a Hillsburgh driver.

Emergency crews were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Charleston Sideroad, near Mississauga Road, in Caledon around 9 p.m. on Jan. 18, OPP said in a press release on Jan. 24.

There were no serious injuries reported in the crash. But police arrested the driver.

Stuart Chenery, 25, of Hillsburgh, was charged with operation while impaired – drugs; possession of cocaine; possession of an opioid; and driving with a blood alcohol above zero as a novice driver, police said.

Chenery is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Feb. 12.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and Chenery’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
