Shots fired leads to assault, forcible confinement charges for Brampton local

A shooting noorth of the city led police to lay to assault, forcible confinement and other charges against a Brampton resident, police say.

The investigation started after officers were called to a home on Jamestown Court in Caledon for reports of a shooting on Dec. 17, the OPP says.

No injuries were reported in the shooting just north of Brampton, but police say an investigation revealed the incident was linked to an incident that happened the day before.

Police said the first altercation happened in Brampton on Dec. 16 but did not provide additional details on the incident.

Then on Friday, police say a 36-year-old from Brampton was arrested and charged with multiple offences including aggravated assault and forcible confinement.

The OPP says Tejinder Kahlon, 36, of Brampton, has been charged with aggravated assault, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, forcible confinement, and fail to comply with release order.

The accused was held for a court appearance in Orangeville, police said.
