A Mississauga man is among four people facing weapon and drug charges after a police search of a northern Ontario home Wednesday night turned up cocaine, other drugs and a loaded sawed-off shotgun.
Fentanyl, methamphetamine tablets, $1,600 in cash, digital scales, packaging materials and numerous cellphones were also seized by officers from various Ontario Provincial Police units who executed a search warrant at a home in Elliot Lake, about 160 kilometres west of Sudbury.
Specifically, police said in a news release on Thursday, some 250 grams of suspected cocaine, almost nine grams of suspected fentanyl and 10 methamphetamine pills were seized during the raid, which took place around 7 p.m.
Officers with the OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit in addition to uniform officers were involved in the investigation.
Orlando Samuels, 41, of Mississauga, and Michael McNeelands, 42, and Krystal Rol, 35, both of Elliot Lake, face numerous charges that include possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and various weapons/firearms offences.
Donna Fournier, 41, of Elliot Lake, faces drug possession charges.
The three accused from Elliot Lake will appear in court on Jan. 11, police said, while Samuels was scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday.
