SHOOTING: One person dead in a shooting in Mississauga

One person has died and another was injured in an overnight shooting in Mississauga.

Emergency crews responded to the shooting in the area of Dixie Road and The Queensway East at 2:43 a.m. Thursday morning (March 21), Peel Regional Police said in a post on X.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene and a second man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a police spokesperson told insauga.com.

The incident happened at a commercial plaza on The Queensway, west of Dixie Road. Police didn’t say if the shooting happened outside or inside the building.

There is no suspect information at this time, police said.

The intersection of Dixie Road and The Queensway remains open.
