The shooting death of a 24-year-old in B.C. nearly a year ago has led Mounties to lay murder and conspiracy charges against three men including one from Brampton.
On the evening of Nov. 3, 2022, the RCMP says Surrey Memorial Hospital notified officers about a patient suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say the victim, identified as 24-year-old Pawandeep Chopra of Surrey, was in critical condition and died of his injuries on Nov. 5.
Now the RCMP says three men have been charged with one count each of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Sgt. Timothy Pierotti with the RCMP Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the “complex investigation” spanned multiple provinces and saw Mounties work with the Peel Regional Police Service and the Canada Border Services Agency.
The RCMP have charged Segovia-Sanhueza, 22, of Brampton, Lascel Tyndale, 24, of North York and Terry McDonald, 25, of Abbotsford, B.C. with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Police did not say when the accused are scheduled to appear in court to answer the charges.
