Sherway Gardens and other major locations in the GTA remain closed due to power outages from storm

Due to much of the infrastructure in the Greater Toronto Area suffering as a result of today’s (July 16) storm-related flooding, the CF Sherway Gardens shopping centre outside of Mississauga has closed due to a power outage.

This announcement was formally posted on the facility’s official website.

Instead of store hours and a directory, upon visiting CF Sherway Gardens’ website, visitors are greeted with a message stating “CF Sherway Gardens is currently closed due to a power outage. Please continue to visit our website for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

At the time of this article, no official word has been provided on the nature of this outage and when operations will resume at CF Sherway Gardens.

Additional facilities throughout Toronto and GTA that have endured closures due to flooding and power outages include the Don Valley’s Evergreen Brick Works location, which stated on Instagram that it will remain closed until tomorrow (July 17).

The Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in downtown Toronto has also reported a closure due to a power outage on social media as well.

Additional closures and power outages will be added to this article as announcements are made.

(Update: CF Sherway Gardens reopened the afternoon of July 16 after restoring power)
