Those who haven’t had a chance to check out Shen Yun or are interested in seeing it again may be interested to know that it will be returning to the Living Arts Centre (LAC) in Mississauga this weekend.
Shen Yun’s artists aim to revive China’s true culture through dance, music, unique backdrops and costumes. The upcoming shows at the LAC will take place from Mar. 24 to 28, 2023, and will enable guests to experience “the beauty and wonder of China” before communism.
Each performance consists of roughly 20 pieces, which move from one legend, region, or dynasty to the next. Themes will range from the elegance of Tang court ladies to the battlefield of generals, the works of Lao-Tzu and scenes of magical realms.
Some pieces will also touch on the topic of today’s China, which aims to shed light on the oppression that many people experience for their spiritual beliefs, including Falun Dafa.
“Through breathtaking dance and music, Shen Yun’s artists tell of a time when divine beings walked upon the earth, leaving behind a culture that inspired generations,” reads Shen Yun Performing Arts’ website.
While tickets are on sale now for the shows at the LAC, the Sunday (Mar. 26) afternoon show at 2:00 p.m. is sold out and there are only limited and single seats remaining for the Sunday evening show.
Tickets for the shows start at $100.
