Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) says severe thunderstorms and some flooding are possible for Brampton.
According to CVC, conditions are ideal for the development of severe thunderstorms over the next several days.
Showers with a possible risk of thunderstorms may begin later this morning and continue through Saturday. CVC also says that cooling conditions could trigger the development of thunderstorms as daytime highs on Saturday will finally fall below 30 degrees.
The potential for thunderstorms will persist through the weekend.
While CVC says that flooding along the Credit River and its major tributaries is not expected, heavy downpours associated with thunderstorms could result in flooding of highly urbanized areas.
“Local streams, rivers, and shorelines could become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, bridges and dams. People should be warned to stay away from all watercourses and water bodies, especially children and pets,” CVC says.
