Severe thunderstorms and even hail are possible today in Mississauga.
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Halton earlier today and although there is no official warning for Mississauga, storms are possible for the area.
A storm system is tracking across Lake Erie and moving to the north, northeast into the Niagara regions and parts of the GTHA today (June 26), according to Instant Weather.
“They may have the potential to produce strong or damaging wind gusts as it’s strengthening on radar. Torrential rain, isolated flooding, hail, and frequent lightning is also a possibility,” Instant Weather wrote.
Environment Canada predicts showers, heavy at times with the risk of a thunderstorm. Up to 15 mm of rainfall is predicted for Mississauga.
The showers won’t end until late this evening and the risk of a thunderstorm continues into the evening.
Thunderstorms are also possible tomorrow in Mississauga with sunnier skies coming on Wednesday.
