Severe storm causing delays, flooding in Mississauga and Brampton

Residents in Mississauga and Brampton are advised to exercise caution as the severe thunderstorm continues.

Flooding and traffic delays are occurring in both cities, prompting Peel police to ask motorists to travel safely.

“If roadways look as though there’s water covering them, it is recommended that you do not attempt to travel through as your vehicle may become stuck,” said police.

Meteorologists are continuing to track a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain throughout parts of southern Ontario.

No injuries have been reported at this time in relation to the storm or flooding.
