Several neighbourhoods in Burlington are dealing with power outages this morning (July 16).

Burlington Hydro reports there are five pockets of power loss across the city affecting approximately 110 customers

A defective transformer is blamed for causing the problem in three of the five cases.

These included neighbourhoods near Aldershot Park, Glastonbury Road and Sandringham Drive.

Near Pinedale Avenue, the outage is being blamed on a downed branch affecting power lines.

On Longmoor Drive the cause is still under investigation.

There has been no indication that the rain or flooding is causing power loss. However, several residents on social media have indicated they are dealing with both flooding and power loss today.

Burlington Hydro says crews are on the scene at all locations trying to fix the electrical problems.

Power is expected to be restored this afternoon.
