miway routes detour construction

Several MiWay routes will be affected for weeks amid a construction project.

The City of Mississauga said in a news release that Metrolinx will be temporarily closing Renforth Station for “essential constriction work” from Sept. 23 to Nov. 1.

As a result, four other transitway stations east of Dixie Station will also be closed temporarily, including Tahoe, Etobicoke Creek, Spectrum, and Orbitor.

“This is due to the inability of buses to exit the Mississauga transitway at Renforth Station during the construction period,” the City said.

“Accordingly, buses will be redirected to exit east of Dixie Station.”

Routes 107 Malton Express and 109 Meadowvale Express will be detoured to existing bus stops on Eglinton Avenue. They’ll exit the transitway east of Dixie Station and will travel along Eglinton Avenue to and from Renforth Station.

“This adjustment means that there will be no service at Tahoe, Etobicoke Creek, Spectrum, and Orbitor Stations for the duration of the construction at Renforth Station,” the City noted.

Routes that typically service Renforth Station, including 7, 39, 43, 74, 107, and 109, will be detoured to on-street bus stops near the station on Skymark Avenue and Commerce Boulevard, the City said.
