Sept. 6 Weather: Showers roll in starting at noon across southern Ontario

Showers in the day and evening will kick off what could be a wet weekend across Mississauga and southern Ontario.

The Environment Canada forecast has showers beginning at noon and the risk of a thunderstorm later in the afternoon, before more showers in the evening.

It will be a cloudy start to Friday (Sept. 6) as the wet stuff arrives in just before noon followed by the risk of an afternoon thunderstorm. Estimates have the rain amounting anywhere from 10 to 15 mm.

Winds will become south at 20 km/hr. later in the morning and then becoming northeast at 20 km/hr. and gusting to 40 km/hr. The high during the day will be 24 degrees Celsius though it will feel more like 30 degrees Celsius with the humidex.

The UV index will be 6 or high.

Showers will end overnight and then be mainly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of more of the wet stuff. There will be the risk of a thunderstorm in the evening and after midnight.

Precipitation will add up from 10 to 15 mm over the evening. Wind will be northwest at 20 km/hr. The overnight low is expected to drop to 10 degrees Celsius.

The sun will rise at 6:48 a.m. and then set in the evening at 7:46 p.m. There will be 12 hours and 58 minutes of daylight time.
