Sept. 25 Weather: Heavy rain to ease off in morning, but more wet stuff on the way for southern Ontario

The heavy rainfall overnight is expected to taper off in the morning, but more showers are expected throughout the day and into the evening for Mississauga and southern Ontario on Wednesday (Sept. 25).

A rainfall warning was issued by Environment Canada yesterday with local rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm expected.

Showers will continue into Wednesday morning but are expected to become more isolated and ease off in intensity,” said Environment Canada.

It will become cloudy with a 40 percent of showers. There will be the risk of a thunderstorm in both the morning and afternoon.

Precipitation totals for the day will be between 5- and 10-mm. Winds will be southeast at 30 km/hr., becoming light in the morning. Later on in the morning, they will become south at 20 km./hr

A high of 24 C is expected, though the humidex it will feel more like 32 C. The UV index will be 3 or moderate.

The evening will see cloudy skies with a 40 percent of showers. There will also be the risk of a thunderstorm. The overnight low will be 16 C.

Winds will be southeast at 20 km/hr gusting to 40 km/hr. An overnight low of 16 C is expected.

The sun will rise at 7:09 a.m. and then set in the evening hours at 7:11 p.m. In total, we will have 12 hours and two minutes of daylight time.
