Senior in Brampton dies after being hit by driver; roads closed

A man in his 70s who was on foot has died after by struck by a driver in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police announced shortly before 7:30 p.m. that the man had died, about an hour after being struck in the area of Bovaird Drive East and Kennedy Road North. The driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the police investigation.
Kennedy Rd. is closed between Wexford Rd. and Rutherford Rd., while Bovaird Dr. is closed between Richvale Dr. and Conestoga Dr., until further notice. The police service’s major collision bureau investigators are performing reconstruction work. Typically, that means closures will last for several hours.
