A harrowing video of a home invasion in Milton is making the rounds on social media.

Posted by a user who said she lives in Milton, the black-and-white footage taken by a home security camera in a hallway shows someone running up a flight of stairs, followed by three men, at least one of whom appears to be armed with a handgun.

The video is timestamped Thursday, Jan. 18, at 11 p.m.

“Hey, as many of you know my family and I were victims of armed home invasion last Thursday night,” wrote the victim on Reddit.

“My purpose for posting is to bring awareness to residents of Milton and hopefully raise the level of vigilance of all our neighbourhoods.”

She said nothing about the incident was posted on the Halton Regional Police news site, despite there being a rash of other similar crimes recently. They all had suspects described as three black men in a black SUV.

“Please feel free to share this information with your friends and neighbours as vigilance in our neighbourhoods is the best way to protect each other. If you live in the downtown Milton area please check your camera footage (if you have cameras) and contact me if you see anything suspicious or find a license plate.”
