Scarborough woman fails to stop for police in Pickering; flees onto Hwy 401

A 27-year-old Scarborough woman is facing a slew of charges, including impaired driving and failure to stop for police after she ran a red light and tried to escape on Highway 401 Sunday.

An officer from Durham Police’s West Division attempted to stop a vehicle that had run a red light in the Kingston Road and Brock Road area of Pickering Sunday night. Police say the driver refused to stop and entered the highway going westbound. A rolling block was used to stop the vehicle near Port Union Road and the woman was placed under arrest.

Samantha McCalla is charged with Impaired, Fail to Stop for Police and Fail to Stop for Red Light.
