Scammers target Milton Hydro users

Milton Hydro has released a public warning concerning an active scam where fraudsters are impersonating company personnel.
Recently the public utility posted on X (formerly Twitter) urging Milton residents to be cautious when receiving phone calls claiming they represent Milton Hydro.
The scammers are telling people that their power will be cut off if immediate payment is not sent.
“You are protected from electricity disconnections for non-payment during the Winter Disconnection Ban period,” Milton Hydro says.

Representatives for the organization are telling residents that, in the event of a suspicious phone call, they should contact Milton Hydro directly at (905) 876-4611, to confirm the validity of any claims made on behalf of would-be scammers.
