Sawed-off shotgun and drug found in Whitby traffic stop with kids in car: police claim

Two people are in custody after they were pulled over with, police allege, drugs, and a gun in the car as well as their two children.
Durham Police officers pulled the couple over near Garden Street and Rossland Road East around 4 p.m. on June 5. The cops learned the man was court-ordered to stay away from the woman. He was arrested at the scene without any problems.
However, a search of the car led to the discovery of multiple drugs and a sawed-off shotgun. After this discovery, the woman was also arrested. There were two young children in the back seat. They’ve been placed in a family member’s care.
Samuel Ribiero Allan, 35 of Whitby, is charged with a battery of offences including;
- possess of a restricted or prohibited firearm while knowingly without a licence,
- possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with,
- occupying a car with a firearm,
- six counts of possession contrary to a court order,
- possession of cocaine for trafficking,
- possession of an opioid for trafficking, and
- two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking
Brooklyn Smoke, 23 of Lindsay is also charged with;
- possess of a restricted or prohibited firearm while knowingly without a licence,
- possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with,
- occupying a car with a firearm,
- possession of cocaine for trafficking,
- possession of an opioid for trafficking, and
- failure to comply with an undertaking
