Santa Claus parade makes a jolly comeback in Brampton today (Nov. 18)

Santa Claus is coming to Brampton!

Residents in the area can get an early preview of Santa and revel in a holiday-themed celebration complete with music and floats today.

This year, the organizers note on their website a slight change from their original route. “Due to ongoing construction downtown, the parade will adhere to a temporary route along Bramalea Road and North Park Boulevard,” the statement read.

The annual parade- celebrating its 29th year, is set to kick off at 5 p.m., from the intersection of Bramalea Road and Central Park Drive, proceeding north on Bramalea Road and then east on North Park Drive. The festive procession will conclude at the intersection of North Park Drive and Jordan Boulevard.

According to its events page the parade will run approximately 60 minutes, though the exact time it reaches your location varies based on your position along the route. Anyone who is situated at the end of the route, can anticipate catching Santa’s arrival around 6 p.m.

Spectators are advised to dress appropriately for the weather, as the parade is expected to proceed rain or shine.

There is ample parking options available along the parade route, encompassing shopping centres, schools, and recreation centres.

Street parking along the parade route is not permitted after 2 p.m., today until the road reopens, around 8 p.m.

Vehicles parked along the road closure route on Bramalea Road and North Park Drive including Pineway Place and Salvation Army will not be able to leave until the parade has concluded and the road is re-opened.

For those who plan to attend —early arrival is recommended to ensure both parking availability and a prime viewing spot for the parade.
